Get Active Initiatives

Initiatives have been developed to help people increase their level of physical activity through making the most of Shropshire countryside and facilities.

Currently a project called Walking for Life (www.shropshire.gov.uk/countryside) is in place which is developing walking opportunities such as Walking the way to Health groups (www.whi.org.uk) across the county.

A new exercise referral programme called Active4Health (to be developed) is also under development. Click on the links above to find out more.

Active Volunteering

What better way to spend some time than out in the countryside, looking after your surroundings, and meeting like minded people. Shropshire offers a wide variety of active volunteering opportunities through organisations such as Shropshire County Council, Natural England and Shropshire Wildlife Trust.
